I agree, they have tactics and an overall strategy. I think it is clear part of that strategy is to get younger. My rhetorical question is: are the Eagles simply buying time to make a big move such as getting Boldin? Have the moves to date been aimed at putting the needed pieces in place to make that happen?

I have no dount they have laid out a strategy and outlined how they think they can get it done. I do doubt that they will be able to aquire the likes of Boldin and Peters.

Depends on what you mean by a “grand plan”… they have tactics, and an overall strategy, but the situation is fluid. Not everything you want to do gets done, not everything you anticipate happens.

I think Boldin and Peters are both possible but neither is particularly likely. Weaver, probably.

Yea, I agree. I am not ready to call this offseason a failure just yet. As you said, it was way too early to judge it as a whole. The Eagles clearly are not done dealing yet–we”ll just have to wait and see if the moves they make are the right ones.

As upset as I was about losing Dawkins, I just think it’’s way to early to say they haven”t had a good offseason. Not that you are saying, but I hear people saying that. There are a lot of chips that the Eagles have, and as of right now I don”t think the team is any worse than last year. Let’’s say they get Weaver, along with signings of Jones and Andrews, draft a RB and tackle, and maybe get Holt, I”d say that’’s a pretty damn good off season. So much will play out in the coming weeks, plus the draft and even into training camp.
